Western fans of the popular virtual singer Hatsune Miku might be in for some luck as Sega have hinted at the idea of releasing the PS Vita game Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F outside of Japan.

Hopes were raised for Hatsune Miku fans as Sega brought a playable demo of the game to E3 with an English menu, but hope of a western release were taken down a notch when Sega revealed that the playable demo was brought to “gauge interest” in the game.

Officially Sega have said that there are no plans to release Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F outside of Japan, but maybe those over at E3 this year can convince Sega that it would be a good idea to release it worldwide.

If you haven’t seen Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F in action here is the latest trailer for the game.

Hatsune Miku and the rest of the Vocaloid is becoming rather popular outside of Japan lately with a live virtual concert at the Nokia stadium in Los Angeles last year and there are rumours that the third iteration of the music creation tool Vocaloid 3 could be released in America due to the fact more English words are been added to a lot of the voices.
