Activision has released the reveal trailer for Sledgehammer Games’ gritty and bloody Call of Duty: WWII.

From what is shown in the trailer, the game begins in June 1944 when allied forces stormed Normandy (D-Day) in an operation to liberate France and Europe from Nazi control. In the game, you are a member of the 1st Infantry Division- a division of the United States Army that has existed since the First World War- as a member of this division you will see the horrors of later stages of War. The reveal trailer YouTube description also says the following about the game, “Call of Duty: WWII delivers fast-paced, boots-on-ground combat through iconic locations in the European Theatre.”

While the reveal trailer looks interesting, I hope that the game won’t just go from the D-Day landing onward. I personally would like to see instances from before the landing such as the Blitz, something to help push home the tragedy of the war. As someone who’s Grandmother was a Nurse based in London during the war, I would love to see aspects of the war she has told me about, such as witnessing bombing raids by the Nazis.

Call of Duty: WWII will be available November 3, 2017, for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
