Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood announced

On October 14, 2016 by Ash Meehan

During today’s opening ceremony for the North American Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest, the game’s director, Naoki Yoshida, unveiled Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, the MMORPG’s second expansion

The Stormblood expansion will see players venture to the city-state of Ala Mhigo in an effort to help free the city from the control of the Garlean Empire. Regarding the expansion’s content, the level cap will be increased from 60 to 70, new unknown jobs, revamped battle system, additional skill system overhaul, new areas, new primals, challenging new dungeons, high end raids, alliance raids, the forbidden land Eureka, new gear and recipes, a 4th residential area, and most impotently of all item inventory expansion (it’s about time).

Some tech based news regarding the expansion was also revealed, which includes changes to windows version minimum spec requirements (guess I need to upgrade my PC), dropping 32 bit support, and most impotently of all PlayStation 3 support will end with the release of Stormblood, but don’t worry PS3 users there will be an upgrade campaign to PS4.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is set for an early summer 2017 release.
