Today, Codemasters’ has announced that F1 2016 will feature a Multiplayer Championship, a brand new game mode that allows up to 22 players to compete against each other over the course of a season.

The announcement of this feature concluded with the idea that it could offer “great possibilities for league play.” Although the announcement doesn’t go any, further than that. I mean the idea of 22-player online championship could have some esports potential.

Apart from the announcement of the Multiplayer Championship, Codemasters released a new trailer, this new trailer, which you can see below focuses on the game’s career mode and all its features.

The trailer shows off formation laps and the need to warm your tyres, manual race starts, execution of race strategy, car development, and more.

F1 2016 will be available August 19th, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
