Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is coming to the west in fall 2016 for PS4 and PS Vita.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, is a brand new story that is overseen by the original author of Sword Art Online novels, Reki Kawachara. The game has you play as Kirito as you return to the VRMMORPG Sword Art Online, but there is a twist as this is a new version of the game called Sword Art Origin, which was created on the game’s original server, giving players flashbacks of memories from past events. Much like Sword Art Online, your goal is to win the game.

If you have watched the Sword Art Online anime, you would have seen hints of this as season 1 of the show ended with the creation of a new version of Sword Art Online and Kirito and his friends vowing to conquer it.

According to the Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization announcement press release, the game will feature numerous characters from the animated series including Kirito, Leafa and Asuna, along with the established characters there will be an exclusive new virtual character in the game.
