Today, Activision has announced Skylanders Battlecast, a free to play mobile card battle game for iOS and Android devices.

From the above trailer, the game seems to be a Pokémon battle system mixed in with a card system that is similar to Blizzard’s Hearthstone. Honestly if the game plays as well as it looks it might be an interesting game, but since it is free to play I am wary of what kind of business model Activision will use (aside from having players buy cards).

Skylanders Battlecast will be available for iOS and Android devices in 2016.
