During the latest “Letter from the Producer“, Square Enix has released a new spoiler filled trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward.

Big spoiler warning for those who have not finished the patch 2.55 main story quests, so if you want to experience the ending for yourself turn back now.

For those who haven’t played the MMO and are curious about what’s going on. The Warrior of Light (the player character) is framed for the murder of Nanamo Ul Namo, the Sultana of Ul’dah, and is forced to flee to Ishgard, but Ishgard isn’t any safer than Ul’dah, as the “Dragonsong War” is becoming even bloodier as the city’s defences are coming under constant Dravanian assault.

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward will be available June 23 (pre-order early access starts June 19), for Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
