SWTOR shows impressive early access and launch figures
EA has released some figures showing the fan reaction to Star Wars: The Old Republic over the last 8 days (early access and launch day).
Some of the figures for the 8 days include:
- 28 million in-game hours have being logged – roughly equivalent to watching all 6 Star Wars movies 2 million times.
- Play time has averaged over 5 hours a day.
- 3.8 million Characters have being created with the 2 most popular classes being Jedi Knight (510,000 created) and Sith Warrior (550,000 created).
- Over 2 billion NPCs have being killed over the last 8 days.
According to Dr. Ray Muzyka, General Manager of EA’ Bioware label and co-founder of Bioware the game has already attracted over a million players.
In the press release on the figures Dr. Muzyka said “Already over a million players strong after our Dec 20th launch, The Old Republic has become the fastest growing subscription MMO in the history of our industry,” “Everyone at BioWare, EA and LucasArts is honored – and humbled – by the stellar response from our fans. We’re going to work together closely with our community in the weeks, months and years ahead, continually serving our audience with regular delivery of compelling new features and content.”
So it looks like SWTOR is doing rather well despite some issues with server queues and subscriptions not activating for players.
