Well people speculated since the announcement of Mass Effect 3 whether or not it would have multiplayer and finally Bioware have revealed there will be co-op in the game.

During the latest Bioware Pulse video the new addition was officially revealed and detailed.

The co-op will allow up to 4 players to take part in co-op missions which see you fighting for control of locations throughout the galaxy as the galactic war has kicked into high gear.

The co-op will allow you to play as multiple races including: Human, Salarian, Asari and Turian. You will also have access to many different classes including sentinel, infiltrator, soldier and vanguard.

During the Bioware Pulse video Casey Hudson, executive producer on the game said “We’ve created something that is a cohesive experience between the multiplayer and the singleplayer aspects of Mass Effect 3”. An example of this is in the single player the area Sheppard is trying to secure across the galaxy as part of your war assets are fought to be controlled on the multiplayer side.

Ultimately the question is will the single player affect the multiplayer and well it will to an extent as Casey says in the video “The better you do and the more you control (in regards to holding area in co-op), the better your singleplayer ending will be.”

Co-op seems to be the right choice as far as multiplayer inclusion for a traditionally single player action RPG.
