Well what is the surprise? Well www.modernwarfare3.com redirects users to the official Battlefield 3 website. Now the question is who is behind this trolling? At present no one knows who did it as the domain was bought via domainbyproxy.com which hides the contact details of the domains creators.
So speculation begins as some people think it could be EA pulling a joke on Activision, but this could be seen to be unlikely unless you think back to Epic Games where they made a slap stick game called Duty Calls which was made to make fun of the Call of Duty series and to promote Epic’s Bulletstorm. But would EA really go this far in the clash of what could be the top 2 FPS games of the year? Honestly I would say no. My gut feeling tells me someone outside of EA or Dice is doing this for a joke.
While this is funny it raises the question. Why didn’t Activision register the modernwarefare3.com domain?
