After much delay Ireland based G4X has entered its beta phase. Now what is G4X? Well G4X is Europe’s first gaming portal for console players were players can challenge each other or play in tournaments for cash prizes. The Beta phase began last Friday and will continue until the G4X staff feel everything is ready to go.
But in the beta phase what can people do? Well as I said earlier you can challenge other G4X users and take part in tournaments on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (sorry no PC support as of yet). If you wish to take part in the beta testing then you will need some requirements.

• Register on the G4X website
• Have at least 20 constructive posts on the G4X forums
• Have a game and console that is supported by G4X
• Be willing to give back feedback on error, glitches etc.

Now G4X has a short list of games it supports which are:

• FIFA 2011
• Mortal Kombat
• Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
• Grand Turismo 5
• Tekken 6
• Call of Duty: Black Ops
• Pro Evolution Soccer 2011
• Fight Night Champion
• Super Street Fighter IV
• Forza Motorsport 3
• Halo: Reach

Now all these games can be done in 8V8 tournaments with a knockout table format and to enter you must pay 5 GP which is a money used on the G4X website. GP can be bought from the website at €0.99 each. In tournaments you can win GP and other prizes. You can also win GP by challenging friends in game type which is “challenge for money” and this will cost 5GP, if you don’t wish to spend you can pick “Play for Fun” which is a free game with nothing on the line.

While G4X is in its early stages I recommend checking it out as it could prove to be well since you can take part in tournaments from the comfort of your own home. Also for those outside of Europe you are welcome to take part in G4X. The more the merrier.
