Square Enix has clarified the controversial episodic structure of Final fantasy VII Remake, according to the company the remake will consist of multiple, full-sized games instead of a series of smaller games.

The details regarding the episodic structure were revealed in the latest issue of Game Informer, in which Producer Yoshinori Kitase said the development was using Final Fantasy XII series as the model. For those who haven’t played the Final Fantasy XIII games, each game told the overall story of the series from a different perspective.

“This reimagined epic will be the next core Final Fantasy instalment–or rather, instalments,” Game Informer’s writer states. “When the project was first announced, people were confused by its multi-part nature, but the goal is to structure it more like Final Fantasy XIII than an episodic series.”

The news that episodic nature of Final Fantasy VII Remake will consist of multiple full-sized games is likely to be welcome news to many fans, but of course, there will be those who still don’t like the idea of the Final Fantasy VII Remake being released in pieces.

Personally, I currently have no issues with the release structure of Final Fantasy VII Remake, although my personal opinion could change as more information regarding the episodic structure is revealed.
