Three new fighters join Super Smash Bros.

On July 14, 2014 by Aaron Meehan

Nintendo has today revealed two new fighters and one returning fighter for their upcoming crossover fighting game, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

Jumping into the ring for the first time are Lucina and Robin from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Players will be able to play as both male and female versions of Robin. This gender swapping is most likely an example of the various skins available to players.

Returning to the ring is Captain Falcon from the futuristic racing franchise, F-Zero. Captain Falcon has appeared in every previous Super Smash Bros. game. Captain Falcon has proven to be a popular character in the Smash Bros series with Falcon Punch, his signature move, becoming an internet with fans of both F-Zero and Super Smash Bros.

With today’s announcement, the current number of fighters for Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS now stands at 36.

Super Smash Bros. will be available October 3rd for the Nintendo 3DS, and winter 2014 for the Wii U.
