EA say they were “dumb” in regards to SimCity launch

On March 9, 2013 by Ash Meehan

In an announcement about the troubled launch for the city building game, SimCity, EA has said they were “dumb” for underestimating the number of players logging into play the game.

EA and Maxis have said they are working hard on fixing the server issues which have plagued the game since launch.

OK, we agree, that was dumb, but we are committed to fixing it. In the last 48 hours we increased server capacity by 120 percent. It’s working – the number of people who have gotten in and built cities has improved dramatically. The number of disrupted experiences has dropped by roughly 80 percent.

As a way to say sorry for the messed up launch of SimCity, EA has stated it will be offering a free PC download game to anyone who activated SimCity before March 18.
