Valve wants steamworks on Xbox 360
Valve has being reported as saying they want XBLA version of Counter Strike: Global Offensive to have steamworks integration.
Xbox Live is a closed platform and has strict guidelines and has lead to some companies pulling out of making some games for the Xbox 360, the most recent being Dust 514 which was originally planned for PS3 and Xbox 360, but Microsoft were unwilling to open up Xbox Live CCP went with Sony since they were more relaxed with their PlayStation Network.
Gabe Newell the owner of Valve told Eurogamer.
“We certainly can deliver a lot of value to customers to the degree to which we have those capabilities.”
The PS3 already offer Steamworks support with Portal 2. The integration included cross platform play and chat, steam achievements and trophies synch and more.
Hopefully Microsoft will open up Xbox Live more because if they do not they could be left behind since Sony are proving to be more open.
