It seems Sony had a good holiday period as Sony Interactive Entertainment announced they sold over 5.9 million PlayStation 4 consoles during the holiday season.

The 5.9 million consoles sold from November 20th to December 31st raises the overall number of PlayStation 4 consoles sold worldwide to more than 73.6 million.

In press release regarding the number of consoles sold during the holiday season, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) also revealed that more than 55.9 million PlayStation 4 games (physical and digital) were sold over the holiday season; this, in turn, raised the number of PS4 games sold (both physical and digital) to 645 million, this is about 8.8 games per console.

SIE also announced that the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers has surpasses 31.5 million as of December 31, 2017, this means just under half of all PS4 users have a PlayStation Plus subscription.
