During the PlayStation’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, Konami unveiled Zone of Enders: The 2nd Runner – Mars for PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR and Windows PC.

Zone of Enders: The 2nd Runner – Mars is an enhanced version of the original 2002 PlayStation 2 release, which previously received a HD re-release for PlayStation 3 in 2012. The upcoming PlayStation 4 re-release will see all visual and aural elements receive a native 4K resolution remaster, along with the game experience being ported to PlayStation VR (including Steam VR), allowing you to experience the whole game in VR via Jehuty’s cockpit.

For those who didn’t play the original or PS3 version of Zone of Enders: The 2nd Runner, Konami has offered the following description of the game.

The year is 2174 and the despotic BAHRAM military organisation is using its new Orbital Frames mech-robot technology to complete the suppression of Mars and the Earth. Seizing control of the Jehuty Orbital Frame – the most powerful craft of its kind – the player is the last hope for the stricken planets. Thus, using the Jehuty unit’s advanced technology, the player is charged with striking deep at the heart of the BAHRAM army.
