Beyond Good and Evil 2 announced
After almost 14 years of waiting, Ubisoft has announced Beyond Good and Evil 2.
The announcement, which was made at the end of Ubisoft’s E3 2017 conference, featured a CGI trailer that gave fans some information as to what the game will be about. When the trailer ended, it was also revealed that Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be a prequel and spiritual sequel to the first Beyond Good and Evil.
Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, Beyond Good & Evil 2 puts players in System 3, a solar system that is at the center of interstellar colonization and trade in the Milky Way in the 24th century. While private enterprises exploit hybrid slave for domination over resources, System 3 colonists struggle to survive and give meaning to their existence by weaving together the diverse heritages of Old Earth. So begins a new era of space piracy.
If you could already tell from the trailer and description, Michel Ancel, Creative Director for Beyond Good and Evil 2 described the game as a sci-fi space opera. Michel stated, “We’re creating a sci-fi space opera, a game where players fight for freedom alongside unforgettable characters and explore a stunning and vast solar system, all while capturing the spirit of Beyond Good & Evil.”
In terms of gameplay, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be an action adventure game that will have a form of cooperative play, although Ubisoft has made clear you can play the game alone.
Currently, the release date and platforms for Beyond Good and Evil 2 have not been released.
