Assassin’s Creed: Origins announced
Assassin’s Creed: Origins takes players back to Ancient Egypt (exact date is 49BCE) as you play Bayek, a protector of Egypt whose personal story will lead to the creation of the Assassin’s Brotherhood. According to Ubisoft, the reason for choosing the Ancient Egyptian was for the following reason:
We chose this particular time period because it offers the most amount of mystery and discovery that we can get from Ancient Egypt. In this land of Gods, pyramids and mummies, Ancient Egypt triggers fantasies and mystery that we aim to deliver on in the most epic way possible. What is underneath the great Pyramids? Who are these men with animal heads? Who were the Gods and what did they do? How does this all lead to the birth of the Brotherhood? This is what our players will discover.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins will also include a completely redesigned combat system. According to a Q&A released by Ubisoft, “We changed the paradigm of combat, building from the ground up a new versatile, highly-reactive and fast-paced combat system that gives control, depth and freedom to players, bringing more challenges and thrill to combat.” Ubisoft has also allowed for the seamless transition between unique ranged and melee weapons and the new stats system will help decide if and how they hit their enemies.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins will be available October 27, 2017, for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
