PC specific features for Destiny 2 revealed

On May 18, 2017 by Aaron Meehan

Bungie and Activision have today revealed numerous features of the PC version of Destiny 2, including how the PC version will use Blizzard Entertainment’s Battle.net.

Battle.net, Blizzard Entertainment’s online gaming service, is used to host Blizzard developed games, such as StarCraft 2 and World of Warcraft. Destiny 2 will be the first non-Blizzard developed game on the service.

Regarding other PC features, Bungie has outlined the following features only available on Destiny 2 for PC.

  • 4k Resolution Support (3820×2160)
  • Uncapped framerate
  • Full mouse and keyboard support with custom key mapping
  • Text chat
  • Adjustable Field of View
  • Detailed PC settings screen
  • 21:9 monitor support

These features mean that from a technical perspective the PC version of Destiny 2 will be superior to the console version. For example, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are only running at 30fps while the PC version will be able to go beyond 60fps.

Destiny 2 will be available September 8th, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
