Persona 5 delayed until April
Bad news Persona fans, Atlus USA has announced that Persona 5 will be delayed until April 4, 2017. Deep Silver has confirmed the same delay for the game’s European release.
The reason for the almost two-month delay is due to the fact that Atlus seemingly underestimated the amount of work required to localise the game. Atlus USA’s press release gave the following explanation for the delay.
“I know, I know – the wait has been agonizing, but the Japanese release of Persona 5 smashed all our expectations, and as a company, we decided that we owed our fans the very best effort to make Persona 5 our gold standard in localization. Practically, this means redoubling our QA and localization efforts, even returning to the studio to record previously unvoiced lines.”
To apologise for the delay, those who buy Persona 5 will receive the Persona 5 VO as free DLC, a Persona 5 playable demo will be at the PlayStation Experience, a free Persona 5 theme is now up on the PlayStation Network, and the Persona 5 premium edition has being updated with new art.
Following this announcement, two new character introduction videos were released. The new introduction videos for Makoto and Yusuke can be seen below.
