Nintendo has announced that at 3pm Irish time fans will finally get a first look at their next gaming platform, Codenamed NX.

The first look, which will be available through Nintendo’s official website, will be what Nintendo describes as a “preliminary announcement”. This most likely means that Nintendo won’t be having any deep discussions about the game, and the first look reveal will probably focus on the look of the NX and possibly some of the platform’s launch titles.

Speculation regarding the Nintendo NX has proven to be rather interesting with a Eurogamer article claiming the “NX will function as a high-powered handheld console with its own display. So far so normal – but here’s the twist: we’ve heard the screen is bookended by two controller sections on either side, which can be attached or detached as required.”
