EVE: Valkyrie introduces co-op and cross-platform play
The latest update for CCP Games’ VR game, EVE: Valkyrie has added a co-op mode and the groundwork for cross-platform play with the PlayStation VR.
The new update, which is called Joint Strike, will allow HTC Vive and Oculus Rift players to work with PlayStation VR players from October 13th. However, cross-platform play is not the only aspect of this new update as the update includes a co-op game mode. This new game mode will allow players to form squads and take part in player vs. AI or player vs. player matches. According to the update’s patch notes, there will be no penalty for teaming up with other players.
The new update also introduces Com alerts, which are “are short, instant messages the can help a team rally round an objective, alert a teammate when help is on the way, or simply to say thanks.” This new feature was most likely added due to the update’s emphasis on co-operative play.
The Joint Strike update, which is live as of today, also adds various other new features and updates. For a full roundup of the Joint Strike update, visit https://www.evevalkyrie.com/articles/news/joint-strike-update-coming-in-october.
Finally, CCP Games has also released an EVE: Valkyrie PlayStation VR launch trailer.
