Square Enix has released a video detailing Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness‘ real-time combat battle system.

The above video details how Square Enix and Tri-Ace have attempted to make the transition from exploration to seven-character battle feel as seamless and as natural as possible. The video also shows off how switching between party members and a proper strategy play are important to winning any given battle.

Alongside the battle system video, Square Enix also released two character spotlight videos. The first is for Fiore Brunelli, according to Square Enix, “Fiore is one of the most adept signeturges, even when compared to her fellow researchers at the Royal Institute of Signetary Studies in Langdauq. The complex signets she has imbued allow her to inundate her foes with a torrential downpour of destructive spells.” The second video is for Victor Oakville, according to Square Enix, “Victor is a member of an elite group of soldiers in the Central Resulian Army called the King’s Chosen. All Victor’s subordinates hold him in high esteem, and he has the strongest sense of duty of anyone in the land. Although he never hesitates to fulfill orders, Victor is conflicted about how his job requires him to end the lives of others.”

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness will be released on July 1st, 2016, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
