Bungie has announced that the latest content update for Destiny, update 2.2.0, will go live on April 12th, the update will offer a light cap increase and version of Prison of Elders.

Update 2.2.0 will see the maximum light cap will be increased to 335, new quests featuring the blighted chalice strike, a level 41 version of Prison of Elders, and a new version of Winter’s Run.

This upcoming release of the above-mentioned content is most likely a welcome relief for Destiny players as the game hasn’t received a major content update since The Taken King expansion was released in September 2015. While updates were released following the expansion none of them provided any meaningful content, although December’s update 2.1.0 did introduce sparrow league racing, the league ended at the end of December.

While we know, what new challenges will be added to update 2.2.0, the game’s April Update page states that Bungie will be providing information on new rewards on March 30th and a live update¬†on April 6th.
