Nintendo has announced they will be celebrating 20 years of Pokémon with three special Pokémon-themed 2DS bundles based on the original three Pokémon games, Red, Blue and Yellow.

The three 2DS bundles will include a Nintendo 2DS in transparent red, blue or yellow and a pre-installed virtual console version of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue or Pokémon Yellow, corresponding to the colour of the Nintendo 2DS. The bundles will also feature classic packaging reminiscent of the original Game Boy games, a sheet of 15 stickers that can be used to customise the Nintendo 2DS system, and a download code for a HOME Menu theme.

The three bundles and virtual console versions of the three original Pokémon games are set for release on February 27th, the same day the original Pokémon games launched in Japan in 1996.

Meanwhile, New Nintendo 3DS owners can look forward to two new sets of cover plates. The first plate is a Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon set featuring artwork from the game and the other is a plate decked out in the artwork of classic Pokémon. The Mystery Dungeon plate will be available February 19th while the plate featuring the artwork of classic Pokémon will be available February 27th.
