Jagex has announced that they are now accepting registrations for the closed beta of their digital card game, Chronicle: RuneScape Legends.

Chronicle: RuneScape Legends is a strategy card game based on Jagex Game Studio’s most popular title, RuneScape. While the game appears to be similar to the quickly saturating digital card game genre Chronicles appears to be going for a more strategy RPG approach – that is if the above beta trailer is anything to go by.

Jagex appears to have their weight behind this upcoming game with the game’s lead designer, Jim Sweatman stating, “Since Chronicle’s inception we’ve been committed to iterative, agile development. Now, as we prepare for Chronicle entering closed beta next month, we’re incredibly excited to open the game up to more RuneScape fans and those looking for something new to join us in creating something special.” While development is going well Jagex in the past have been known to shut down games in development, examples of this are Stellar Dawn, which went quiet in 2012 after Jagex paused development on the game, and Transformers Universe, which was shut down less than a year after it left open beta.
