The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokkén Tournament – a Japanese only Pokémon themed arcade fighting game – will be getting an international release on Wii U in spring 2016.

Pokkén Tournament is being developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, with key producers from the Tekken series and Soulcalibur series working on the game. The game itself is a 3D fighting game where Pokémon faces each other in one-on-one battles, the game has a current roster of ten characters and eight assist characters. There has been no word on how or if the Wii U version will differ from the arcade version.
