Dragon Quest XI announced for PS4, 3DS and NX
Square Enix has officially announced Dragon Quest XI for PlayStation 4, 3DS, and the unannounced Nintendo NX.
The announcement was made via a special livestream, where it was revealed that the PlayStation 4 version will be built on Unreal Engine 4, with Orca contributing to its development. For the 3DS, Toy Logic will be contributing to its development.
While the PS4 version will be a fully 3D rendered world, by comparison the 3DS version will have a more retro look to it.
While Square Enix revealed the game would be coming to the Nintendo NX, no further comment was made on this version. For those who are unaware the NX is supposedly Nintendo’s next console, but the company has been tight-lipped about it and have stated that they will not be talking about it until next year.
During the livestream, Square Enix also announced that Dragon Quest X, an MMORPG entry in the series, will be released for PlayStation 4. The game was previously only available for Wii U, 3DS, and PC.
The livestream didn’t offer a release date for Dragon Quest XI, or any word if the game will be released outside of Japan.
