Two new Sword Art Online games coming to Europe

Today, Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced they will be releasing Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment, and Sword Art Online: Lost Song across Europe in summer and autumn 2015.

Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment, will see players take on the role of the main character, Kirito, and fight through all the levels of Aincrad to break free from being locked within the virtual game world. Re: Hollow Fragment will be available via the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in summer 2015.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song is an original story based on the Alfheim Online realm including new and returning characters and exclusive environments, fans will be more than happy to spend over 50 hours questing in the ultimate Virtual Reality universe! To make it even more exiting, Lost Song will feature all new Aerial Battles and plenty of customization features. Lost Song will be available via retail stores for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in autumn 2015.

Sword Art Online was originally a series of Japanese light novels that was first published in April 2009. The novels were based around a collection of characters that became trapped in a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game, to leave the game the characters had complete the game by defeating the game’s final boss, but if you died in the game you would also die in real life.

Sword Art Online’s popularity saw the novels adapted into an anime television series produced by A-1 pictures. The show has received a large fan following, with fans of the show eagerly hopping for a third season. For those living outside of Japan, the popular anime streaming website, Crunchyroll has the rights to stream both the first and second season of Sword Art Online.
