According to The Wall Street Journal, Netflix and Nintendo are currently in the early stages of developing a live action “Legend of Zelda” series.

According to the source that revealed the plans to the WSJ, the series will be “”Game of Thrones” for a family audience”. Maybe it is just me, but I don’t see how the Legend of Zelda series could be anything like Game of Thrones, unless the source is trying to find a roundabout way of saying fantasy style setting.

If this rumour does turn out to be true, it wouldn’t be the first time The Legend of Zelda attempted to enter the TV landscape. Back in 1989 a thirteen episode animated series titled “The Legend of Zelda” was released, and well its reception wasn’t exactly earth shattering, with the series most memorable moment being Link’s catchphrase “Excuuuuuse me, Princess!”

The creators also have a hurdle to climb in the way of picking which Zelda timeline to choose, I mean they could just avoid the established timelines and make their own. In addition, there is the fact that in ever Zelda game, the main character, Link has never talked.

Honestly, I’m kind of curious what will happen with this idea, if it turns out to be true.
