final fantasy xiv update 2.5

Fans of the Square Enix’s MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV rejoice, because yesterday, Square Enix released a lengthy trailer for Final Fantasy XIV’s two-part pre-expansion patch 2.5, “Before the Fall”.

The above trailer shows off the content and release date for each part of the game’s two-part update. Part 1 of 2.5 “Before the Fall” will be released on January 20th, and part 2 will be released in late march, but between the release of the two patches, Square Enix will release 2.51 – Gold Saucer in Late February, this much anticipated piece of content will contain Chocobo racing, the Triple Triad card game, and numerous other mini-games.

For those who are curious about the content of the two-part update, the game’s main scenario begins to reach its conclusion as unrest in Ul’dah begins to flourish, Garlemald crowns a new emperor, and the Ascians look to be finally leave the shadows and go directly for the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Away from the main scenario, there is also the conclusion of the Crystal Tower storyline with the introduction of the 24-man raid, The World of Darkness. The patch also continues hilarious and popular Hildibrand side story, a new raid trial against Odin and three new dungeons.

As a person who has being playing Final Fantasy XIV for more than a year I cannot wait for 2.5 and 2.51, because I just know I am going to lose hours taking part in the new mini-games, story and more.
