New Final Fantasy XIV expansion content revealed
At the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2014 in Tokyo, Square Enix revealed some of the new content for the MMOs expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. New reveals include: a new race, two new jobs, and a high-end raid.
When Heavensward was original announced back in October, we were only given a rather small degree of information. We learned that the game would have a new race, jobs, primals, raids, airship, flying mounts and more, but while we told about these all we got to see was the expansion’s first new job, Dark Knight, two primals, and flying mounts.
So let’s move onto what we learned yesterday.
New race: Au -Ra
- From their heads grow a pair of unique curved horns
- Their bodies are partially covered in scaled skin
- The males sport muscular builds
- The females of elegant and mysterious
- The hail from the eastern continent of Othard
New job: Astrologian
- Party role: Healer
- Main arm: Star Globe
- No base class involved
- Wields celestial magicks and divining deck
New job: Machinist
- Party role: DPS
- Main arm: Firearm
- No base class involved
- Attack from afar with firearms and mechanical weaponry
New raid dungeon: Alexander
- An all-new high -end raid dungeon
- A primal summoned by the goblins
- Battles take place inside Alexander
- Two difficulty modes (normal and hard)
- Clearing the Binding coil of Bahamut is not required
New flying dragon mount
Collector’s Edition content
- Flying dragon mount figurine
- Art book
- Disc of “class videos”
- In-game items:
- Flying griffin mount
- Dark Knight Cecil-themed baron helm
- Wind-up Kain
