Mewtwo returns to Smash Bros as a downloadable character
Everyone’s favourite genetically engineer Pokémon, Mewtwo will be making its returns to Super Smash Bros. as Nintendo has revealed the fighter will be made available as a free downloadable character in spring 2015 for both 3DS and Wii U versions of the game.
While this is big, news for fans of Mewtwo there is a catch, and a big one at that. According to Nintendo, the only way to unlock Mewtwo is by doing the following: “Mewtwo – This veteran fighter will be made available as free downloadable content in spring 2015 for anyone who registers both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game with Club Nintendo during the promotional period”
As you might imagine this is a big gate to have a character behind as players will have to fork over at least €55, the price of an additional Super Smash Bros. game, to be able to unlock Mewtwo. As gambles go, this is a big one and it will be interesting to see if it pays off.
Super Smash Bros. is now available for Nintendo 3DS with the Wii U version available on December 5, 2014.
