Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd to get English subtitles

On July 4, 2014 by Ash Meehan

Sega has announced that the latest western Hatsune Miku title, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd will feature English lyric translations for the majority of the game’s songs.

John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America explained what the team did to make the translations as accurate as possible. “We worked closely with our partners in Japan and the artists to ensure that the lyrical intent of the original Japanese is maintained so our non-Japanese speaking fans can better understand the meaning and context of the amazing world of Hatsune Miku.”

As a fan of Hatsune Miku, I am happy to see that a number of the songs are getting English lyric translations, but I feel some song might lose some of their appeal. Thankfully, to my knowledge, the songs in Diva F 2nd are rather tame so the English versions won’t be too weird (There are some popular Vocaloid songs that have some disturbing topics).

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd will be available in North America and Europe this fall, for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
