New Final Fantasy XIV patch 2.2 screenshots released
Square Enix have released a host of new screenshots showing off some of the key characters for patch 2.2 of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn – Through the Maelstrom. This new content patch will be released later this month.
Through the Maelstrom will continue the game’s storyline with a new primal to defeat, Primal Lord Leviathan. Also included in the upcoming update are new beast tribe quests, new cases to come for Hildebrand, “glamour” magicks for altering gear appearance and various new ventures.
One of the new Hidebrand cases is ‘Case of the Thieving Duelist’. Square Enix’s preview article gives us the following information regarding the case:
When we last saw Hildibrand─agent of enquiry, inspector extraordinaire─he had received a letter of challenge from a mysterious marauder known to duel his victims and claim their weapons as his own. What will this battle hold for Eorzea’s favorite detective? Who is this furtive fighter, and will he be brought to justice? The answers to all these questions and more can be found by joining Hildibrand and Nashu on their next case.
If you haven’t seen it on the Final Fantasy XIV website yet, the Sahagin’s god, primal Lord Leviathan is the main challenge of this update. Eight man teams have up to sixty minutes to defeat this powerful beast in both Hard and Extreme modes, but if you defeat him you will be rewarded with brand new high item level gear.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn – Through the Maelstrom will be released later this month, but as of yet Square Enix have not released a definitive release date.
