Unity for PlayStation Vita released
Unity has announced that Unity 4.3 will include Unity for PlayStation Vita. Unity for PS Vita will offer developers with licensed developer agreement from SCE to use the Unity engine to take full advantage of some of the platforms specific functions.
Some of the platform specific functions include: motion sensors, front and rear cameras, dual analog sticks and rear touch pad. But that isn’t all Unity for PS Vita will allow developers to integrate the full suite of PSN features into their games, including trophies, friend and matching functionality into their game.
Unity for PS Vita allows developers to develop their game once, without rewriting the code from scratch; simply build and run it on the PS Vita devkit. One example of a game built in Unity for PS3 and PS Vita is Zoink’s Stick It To The Man.
If you are a developer interested in using Unity for PlayStation Vita, visit the official Unity website and if you wish to become a licenced developer for PlayStation Vita, visit the SCE company registration site.
