Square Enix has today announced that the PS4 version of their MMO, FFXIV: A Realm Reborn will be released on April 14. Along with the release date, the company has revealed the PS4 Collector’s Edition.

The PS4 Collector’s Edition is similar to the PS3 and PC versions with the exception of two new in-game items: Fat Chocobo Mount and Wind-up Moogle Minion. Although Square Enix has pointed out that those who have already bought a CE will be getting it when the PS4 version launches.

For those who own the PS3 version of FFXIV, Square Enix are allowing players to transfer from the PS3 version to PS4 for free. Square Enix have laid out the following info regarding the free transfer.

• Transfer is scheduled to start from 11th April (Friday).
• Details of how to transfer will be revealed at a later date.
• Once you transfer to the PS4 version, you cannot play the PS3 version any longer.
• If you want to play both versions, please also purchase the PS4 version.
• If you have several service accounts on PS3, you can transfer them all to PS4.

For those who can’t wait to get the game you can pre-order the title now via the Square Enix store or through your local game retailer. If you pre-order the game you will receive early access and two in-game items.
