Namco Bandai Games has released a new trailer for the free to play game, Ace Combat Infinity. The story in the trailer is the same story from the PS2 game, Ace Combat 4.

The Ulysses disaster which is the main focus of the trailer was also the main focus of the PS2 game, Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies. The only difference between the two is that the disaster has being moved from the alternative world Strangereal to the real world Earth.

Ace Combat – Infinity Ulysses disaster description

Ulysses fall on earth in 1994 destroyed 20% of its surface. Countries started to fight over the few resources left, creating many refugees. A specific district near southern Russia was set for the place to take in these refugees.

Set 20 years after the disaster, you are a new pilot in a mercenary company on the United Nations Forces side.

Personally I’m looking forward to taking on the Ulysses disaster again. I really enjoyed Ace Combat 4 and I’m looking forward to playing it again with PS3 era graphics. One thing that really stood out for me is the fact you will be able to fight overly large super weapons again, something that Ace Combat: Assault Horizon unfortunately didn’t have.

Ace Combat: Infinity will be on the PlayStation 3 as a free to play title in 2013.
