Kiefer Sutherland to be the new voice of Snake
At Konami’s “Pre-E3 Show” today, Konami announced that 24 star, Kiefer Sutherland will be the voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Kiefer Sutherland is best role for his role as Jack Bauer in the television series 24. In the series, Jack Bauer, Director of Field Ops for the Counter-Terrorist Unit of Los Angeles, races against the clock to subvert terrorist plots and save his nation from ultimate disaster.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Sutherland’s third game as a video game voice actor. The two previous games according to his IMDB are: Call of Duty: world at War (Sgt. Roebuck) and 24: The Game (Jack Bauer).
During the show, Sutherland had the following to say about taking on the role of Snake.
“It’s an honour to be able to play this character,” Sutherland said. “[Snake] has an unbelievable legacy. I’m not a gamer and I even knew about this game. I was certainly keenly aware of the legacy of [Metal Gear] and the success of these games.”
Kiefer Sutherland replaces David Hayter who was the voice of Snake for more than 10 years.
