Watch tracks change with Grid 2’s LiveRoutes

On May 1, 2013 by Ash Meehan

Codemasters has today revealed a new feature called, LiveRoutes, for their upcoming racing game, Grid 2. This new system allows race tracks alter its course on the fly.

LiveRoutes which will offer millions of route possibilities will only be available for specific events in the game’s city environments – Paris, Barcelona, Chicago, Miami and Dubai. The route changes will happen at junctions, which means the circuit can switch the track up to six different ways.

Clive Moody, Senior Executive Producer for Grid 2 at Codemasters said the following in the LiveRoutes announcement press release.

“LiveRoutes is the new challenge event that we’re most proud of in GRID 2. It’s as fresh to racing games as Flashback was when we introduced it as a mechanic in the original GRID,”

“In a LiveRoutes event, you don’t know what’s coming next and it turns each race into a test of your racecraft, car handling and reactions on circuits that cannot be learnt. In both career mode and online, LiveRoutes offers near limitless possibilities in every race and it’s a great leveller, even for the most experienced racing game players.”

Grid 2 will be available May 31, 2013 for the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3.
