Namco Bandai has announced that the free to play game, Tekken Card Tournament will be released in the next few weeks for tablets, Smartphones and browsers.

According to Namco Bandai, Tekken Card Tournament will bring the Tekken franchise to the card battle genre in 2 different phases: 1) as a free to play online card game and 2) physical booster card packs which will be on sale in stores this spring.

Both the online and physical versions of the game will be seamlessly integrated with each physical card containing a unique QR code. These unique codes will allow you to use the physical card in the online version of Tekken Card Tournament. Also there will be an augmented reality feature which lets Tekken characters populate the real world just by pointing a Smartphone or tablet camera at the game cards.

In relation to Tekken Card Tournament, Shusuke Takahara, President of NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S. said “We are proud to bring to life this amazing project that combines the company’s core strength in both gaming and toys to create this cross media experience”

Tekken card tournament for mobile, tablet and web browsers will be available soon with the physical Tekken card booster packs arriving to stores this spring.
