Codemasters has announced a brand new mode for F1 2012. The new mode is called ‘Champion mode’ and it will allow you to take on each of the six F1 world champions competing in the 2012 F1 season.

Each champion will have their own race scenarios where you must beat that driver. Successfully completing the scenario will unlock the next challenge.

Here is an example of one of the challenges you will be able to complete in the new mode.

The Kimi Räikkönen challenge sees the player join a race as Kimi’s teammate at Spa Francorchamps. The player has just pitted and is on new tyres while the rest of the pack is on worn rubber with three laps to go until the end of the race. In order to complete the scenario the player has to race through the pack and overtake Kimi before the end of the race.

F1 2012 will be available September 2012 for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3.
