Today Bethesda has officially announced an Elder Scrolls mmo called The Elder Scrolls Online. The game will be fully revealed in the June issue of GameInformer.

While the full reveal will be in the magazine the GameInformer website has dropped some information already about the games setting and more.

According to the GameInformer the game will be set a millennium before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm. The Elder Scrolls Online will feature player-driven PVP combat, three player factions, solo question and more.

“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”

Screenshots will be released later today and a teaser trailer is scheduled to be released tomorrow according to GameInformer. GameInformer will be releasing exclusive content throughout the month of May over at http://gameinformer.com/elderscrollsonline.

The Elder Scrolls Online is been developed by ZeniMax Online Studios which opened in August 2007.
