Last month there were rumours that sci-fi open world game Prey 2 developed by Human Head Studios was cancelled, but yesterday Bethesda denied the rumour but did say the game will not be released this year.

On the official Bethesda Blog the reason for the delay was the fact the game hadn’t progressed at a satisfactorily pace and the game didn’t meet Bethesda’s quality standards.

From the official Bethesda Blog:

“The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards.”

I guess time will tell if Prey 2 will be released or not.
