A year to remember for SGGamingInfo
Well 2011 has ended and I can safely say 2011 was a year to remember for me and SGGamingInfo as the site took big steps forward this year.
It is amazing to think that only this past year SGGamingInfo went from following Stargate Worlds and Stargate Resistance to being a general video game news site, but the memories of working on giving news on those 2 games will remain with me as they were great fun.
The hit of the year was when SGGamingInfo going to E3 in LA. Both myself and Mark (Aszrayel) were in attendance and while it was SGGI’s first major convention I felt we handled ourselves well and the event will stay in my memory for many years to come (and so will the hotel where we stayed because of the brilliant food). SGGamingInfo also attended another major event called Eurogamer Expo with now former writer Cranks taking the helm for the event. Apart from these major events other big events were attended by myself which included G4X’s gaming event in Waterford, Nintendo’s 3DS tour, Battlefield 3 preview event and BF3 launch party to name but a few.
SGGamingInfo also pushed itself in interviews throughout the year as Cranks managed an exclusive interview with DarkCryo’s Craig Redl about the fan made Firefly mmo and me sitting down with G4X’s Richard Anderson as we discussed his plans for his Irish based company who are bringing competitive gaming throughout the island.
There are so many things to say about how well this year went, but I think you got the gist of things. Also I don’t want to forget some of the people in various video game companies who were more than helpful when I talked to them on various matters.
But I think the final and the best hit of the year has you the readers of the site. Without you SGGamingInfo wouldn’t have had as big a year as it was and I hope you continue to visit in 2012.
A Happy New Year to everyone and have a safe and fun 2012.
