NCsoft’s fantasy mmorpg Aion is set to make the switch from subscription to free to play in Europe in February 2012.

As part of this move to free to play NCsoft has teamed up with Gameforge who are Europe’s leader provider of online games.

The free to play version of Aion will have 3 account types which are starter, veteran and gold. All account types will have access to all quests, equipment, customization, pvp and crafting and will all players are able to reach level 55. There are social, trade, character and other restricts in place on the various account types.
