Square Enix has released screenshots showing how players can get fragments for fragment skills in the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Fragments are gained via specific missions that you can do throughout the game for example Sword of Lachesis which involves you helping Bridget examine a Fruit of Fenrir.

Fragment Skills work by handing over fragments to the mystic residing in Serendipity will awaken various powers within you. These skills differ from other abilities as they can be used to enhance gameplay in a unique manner.

While the skills you gain have not been revealed yet, but some screenshots involving the fragment skills have being released.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 from February 3, 2012.
