7 million copies of Skyrim sold within 48 hours
ZeniMax Media have announced that 7 million copies of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim have been sold worldwide within the first 48 hours and has made over $450 million.
Skyrim also saw 280,000 concurrent players on Steam within the first 24 hours of the games release which is now a new record for concurrent players on any one game.
Robert Altman, Chairmand and CEO of ZeniMax Media said “Todd Howard and his team at Bethesda Game Studios have crafted a very special game. Anticipation for Skyrim has surpassed any game in our company’s history, and we are pleased that sales and reviews have reflected the quality and hours of amazing gameplay it provides.”
Finally to round up the good news for ZeniMax and Bethesda the game saw over 50 perfect review scores from leading reviewers such as G4TV, Destructoid and Joystiq to name but a few.
