Trion Worlds have announced that their MMORPG Rift will be free to play this weekend

The free to play weekend is celebrate the Ashes of History patch which added a slew of new content for people to play which added more content for level capped players and more.

You will be able to play for free from Thursday, October 13 starting at 5:30pm BST and it ends on Monday, October 17 at 5pm BST.

Players will also be able to upgrade their account during this period with Ashes of History Upgrade and Collector’s Edition. The first one will cost you £5/€5 and the Collector’s Edition upgrade will set up back £24.99/€24.99.

The Ashes of History upgrade see you gain new items which include:

• The ability to summon Moneybags which is a personal banker.
• Ride a Spindrel (a spider mount).
• Tabard of your faction.

The Ashes of History Collector’s Edition will also include the items above, the Rift client and one month of game time.
